Throughout his storied career, Richie Hawtin has never shied away from evolving and taking chances with his art. Now he’s celebrating 30 years of his beloved alias, Plastikman. When Richie first unveiled his Plastikman concept, the world and the musical landscape were as different as wearing socks with sandals.
An Electric Adventure
Originally released via NovaMute / Plus 8 in 1994, the sophomore release from the project saw Hawtin dive even deeper into his minimalist techno styles while delivering the first performance under the Plastikman name. The launch of Musik allowed him to expand upon his debut offering, Sheet One, and ride the wave of international acclaim that washed over him.
“There are more evolutions here than in a whole season of a reality TV show!”
